On a rainy day you could lose an eye

Well it's a rainy day here in Chicago.

One of the main things I dislike about rainy days is umbrellas. I think everyone should be able to stay dry but every time it rains I almost lose an eye from someone with an umbrella. The people who use them seem to have no regard for anyone else. They plod along with their site line obscured in the usual herd mentality not worrying about who they may hit with their umbrella. There have been numerous times when I have to knock an umbrella away from my face in order to avoid an optical emergency. Then these people have the nerve to look at me as if I have done something wrong. Look just because it is raining does not give people license to do me harm so they can keep dry. I mean when you drive you still worry about the cars even though you have your wipers going.

Now some people pay attention and move their umbrellas and I really appreciate those folks. At least they realize they are not alone on the sidewalk. As for the rest of the folks who are oblivious to the potential harm they could do, I hope your umbrella frame gets bent.
